Clinical Supervision & Professional Consultation for Therapists in NYC:
Remote, Trauma-Informed, LGBTQ-Affirming Support for Growing Clinicians
Deepen Your Skills. Strengthen Your Confidence. Expand Your Impact.
Being a therapist can be deeply rewarding—and deeply overwhelming. You’re carrying the complexity of your clients’ lives, navigating systems that don’t always make it easy, and trying to trust your instincts while still feeling the pressure to “do it right.” You deserve supervision that supports not just your skill development, but your whole self: your wisdom, your values, and your humanity.
I offer clinical supervision and professional consultation for licensed mental health counselors (LMHCs, LPCs, LCSWs, and related providers) who want to grow their trauma-informed skills, sharpen their EMDR and IFS practice, and build sustainable, authentic careers.
All supervision and consultation is provided remotely through a HIPAA-secure video platform.

Your growth as a therapist is powerful, meaningful, and worth investing in.
Eric M. Hovis, LMHC, provides trauma-informed clinical supervision and professional consultation in NYC, specializing in Anxiety Therapy, LGBTQ+ Well-Being, EMDR Therapy, Religious Trauma, and Identity-Focused Growth.
Hi, I’m Eric Hovis, LMHC — A Trauma-Informed Supervisor Who Gets It
A Supervisor Who Believes Your Growth Matters
My name is Eric Hovis (he/him), and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and seasoned clinical supervisor based in New York City.
I love working with fellow therapists who are committed to offering deep, affirming, and transformative care. I bring my full self to this work—including my own lived experience as a queer clinician, my background in trauma-focused therapy, and my steady belief that supervision should feel like a refuge, not a performance.
In addition to my work in private practice, I spent over 12 years as a clinical supervisor and Assistant Director of Mental Health Services at an OMH-licensed mental health clinic. This experience gave me a deep understanding of clinical care across diverse settings—including outpatient therapy, community mental health, and integrated medical/mental health services—as well as the ethical, administrative, and systemic realities therapists often navigate.
My goal is to help you trust your clinical wisdom, expand your skill set, and feel truly supported as you continue growing into the therapist—and the professional—you want to be.
Why Work With Me?
With over 16 years of experience specializing in anxiety, complex trauma, EMDR, and working with LGBTQ+ clients, I offer a space that is supportive, skillful, and clear. Supervision with me blends:
Clinical Depth — Trauma theory, attachment, psychodynamic insight, and somatic awareness.
Actionable Tools — Translating insight into interventions you can use right away.
Professional Growth — Guidance for navigating boundaries, burnout prevention, ethical dilemmas, and private practice building.
Steady Presence — A calm, non-judgmental space where learning can unfold with curiosity, reflection, and real collaboration.
You’ll leave supervision sessions with clarity, stronger clinical instincts, and the sense that you are not alone in your growth.
